Problem:
When launching eCopy PaperWorks, the following message appears:
eCopy PaperWorks requires TWAIN version 1.7 or higher for scanning. Please see your system Administrator.
Cause:
This message occurs if the eCopy PaperWorks application is installed in a Citrix/Terminal Server Environment without a TWAIN 1.7 or higher driver installed on the Citrix/Terminal Server.
Solution 1:
If the client machine is using a scanner, install the TWAIN 1.7 or higher scanner driver on the Citrix/Terminal Server.
Solution 2:
If the client machine is not using a scanner, delete the "MultipleDataSources" and "Type" keys within the Windows Registry of the server machine.
IMPORTANT: This article contains information about editing the registry. Before editing the registry, make sure you understand how to restore it if a problem occurs. Follow the steps below to back up the registry:
- Open the Registry Editor by clicking "Start > Run" (on Windows 7 and Windows Vista, click the "Start" button and place the cursor into the "Search" field).
- Type in "regedit" without the quotes and then press Enter.
- Export a backup copy of the Registry in case problems occur during the following procedures by clicking "File > Export".
- Save this file to the Windows Desktop and name the file "backup". (Keep "backup" for a few days and if all is well, this file can be deleted.)
Follow the directions below to manually delete the "MultipleDataSources" and "Type" registry keys:
- Close all programs.
- Open the Registry Editor by clicking "Start > Run" (on Windows 7 and Windows Vista, click the "Start" button and place the cursor into the "Search" field).
- Type in "regedit" without the quotes press Enter.
- Navigate to the following registry key:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\eCopy\PaperWorks\Connectors\eCopyPW.ScanTwain.1
- Delete the following REG_DWORD values by right-clicking on the name and choosing "Delete":
